Our Founder
Nathan Brown, Ph.D.
Dr. Brown has over 45 years of experience in clinical psychology, neurotherapy, and organizational consulting. Since earning his doctorate from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in 1985, he has focused on a biopsychosocial approach to mental health. Rooted in this perspective, he began his life’s work in neurotherapy as well as psychotherapy, exploring the potential of these tools to support the innate human capacity for resilience, growth, and wholeness.
In 2019 Dr. Brown founded TrueBearing Academy, an organization dedicated to training clinicians and coaches worldwide in digital health strategies and in the application of neurotherapy to their practice. In addition to private practice, he has held academic posts at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology and Seattle Pacific University, where he served as Dean and Associate Professor. Dr. Brown also consults with a wide range of organizations seeking to enhance the self-regulation and resilience of those whom they serve.
Throughout his career, Dr. Brown has been drawn to the wisdom and power of an integrative view of human beings. Our body, brain, mind, and spirit are rooted in our relationships and the communities to which we belong, and each of these elements plays a vital and interconnected role in the quality of our lives. When problems in living arise, each of these biopsychosocial factors must be considered and incorporated into an effective strategy for lasting change.
Dr. Brown lives in Seattle WA with his wife Dañela, and maintains an active clinical practice offering neurotherapy, clinical training, organizational consultation, and speaking services worldwide.
